I am a freelance writer and independent scholar. I currently write articles for the UACC blog. I also write reviews for a local press that primarily publishes poetry. My freelance work includes everything from ebooks on mythology to articles on addictions and recovery. rnMy own research is focused on the issues that attend the cultural landscape of the city. I have published articles on public art and punk rock. My work includes creative non-fiction and poetry. rnI am also a guitar player for the IdleAires: a communications service and information dissemination apparatus -- operating as a Rock n' Roll trio...rn
My connection to Appalachia is through my family. I am removed by a generation from Appalachia, but Appalachian culture was and remains a large part of what defines me.
