Bio

I think of myself as a poet from Ohio, a native son. My poetry drifts between genres. As an investigative journalist and historian at heart, I am drawn to documentary poetics that highlights the class struggle across neighborhoods in Cincinnati and amplifies the voices of the have nots.

My relationship with Appalachia comes from both my mother, whose father was born and raised in Manchester, Kentucky and my father, whose father was born in Kenova, West Virginia.
