Amy Bogard is an artist and writer whose work is steeped in the notion of Place. Through her work in the art of travel journaling, Amy explores places both new and familiar through writing, drawing and painting and shares these explorations with her workshop participants around the world. Amy is interested in how specific places affect us as human beings. She facilitates workshops helping others find their own connection to place.
Much of Amy's family hails from Jackson, Breathitt County, Kentucky but now call Middletown, Ohio home. This is a familiar storyline. Amy was born in Middletown but over the arc of her life has had an opportunity to live in many other places in the world. This experience has enabled her to gain an appreciation for life back home in southwestern Ohio and family is what keeps her here to this day.
