DESCRIPTION:Express Appalachia Homecoming \nThomas More University\nSteigerwald Hall in the Saints Center  \nThis one-of-a-kind performance and open mic event includes literature\, music\, dance and food in the spirit of “home” cultures. Young artists involved in the Urban Appalachian Leadership Project (UALP) seek to bring people from all corners\, ages and cultural backgrounds to share and reflect about their unique identities and backgrounds.   Throughout the evening\, UALP artists\, Tellico Family Band and Bear Foot will offer short\, intense performances inspired by our city’s rich Urban Appalachian heritage. \nYou are invited to weave your own expressions into the experience—come to share poetry\, short reflections\, prose\, skits and music on our open mic stage or just enjoy! Learn more about where the people in your city come from…what defines their voices and diverse interpretations of heritage…what moves folks of all ages and backgrounds to speak out.  Express creatively!  Free and open to the public.  Potluck dish optional.
